KARACHI, March 9: A fresh anti-polio campaign to vaccinate about 6.5 million children up to the age of five year will be launched on March 14 instead of March 12, Expanded Programmne on Immunisation (EPI) announced on Friday.

EPI Sindh Director Dr Mazhar Khamisani gave no reason for deferring the campaign. However, it was reported that an association of vaccinators, demanding disbursement of their salaries, had stopped delivery of polio vaccine stocks to various towns of Karachi. They ended their protest after health secretary assured the agitating vaccinators of the release their salaries within a month.—PPI
