LAHORE, March 8: The National College of Arts dedicated a day to the slogan 'Clean NCA Green NCA' and the faculty together with students cleaned the college and decided to celebrate the day every year.

National College of Arts Principal Sajjad Kausar addressed the students in the college auditorium before the activity.

The principal first broke the news that the Higher Education Commission had ranked the NCA as the best institution in the category of Art and Design. Students were overjoyed to hear it and the overcrowded auditorium reverberated with thunderous claps.

The principal said since the NCA had been declared the best institution, our responsibility had rather increased because we had to maintain the standard. He said the faculty and class representatives of different departments had been thinking for over a month to celebrate a day in the college to raise awareness on environmental issues and to make the college a clean place.

A short film shot at the NCA was also screened on this occasion. The film showed how students littered different places of the college with tissues, empty bottles, wrappers and other such stuff.

The principal urged the students to keep the college clean and green. He appreciated class representatives and heads of different committees for planning the day to clean the NCA.

Students voluntarily bought bins, hard brushes, plastic bags and other such things to clean the college. Both students and teachers were divided into different units to make the college spotless.
