CHINIOT, March 5: A teacher was suspended from service on Monday for fracturing an arm of a minor student for not learning the lesson by heart.

Amir, an eight-year-old student of the Government Boys School, Chak 14-JB, was brutally tortured by his teacher Mohammad Nazir for not memorising the lesson. As a result, Amir’s arm was fractured and he was rushed to the local DHQ Hospital where he was under treatment.

On receiving the torture complaint, Education Executive District Officer Ashraf Ali suspended the teacher and the headmaster of the school and ordered the district education officer concerned to conduct an inquiry into the matter.

SHOT DEAD: Two people were shot dead in separate incidents in the district.

Mumtaz, of Mouza Mahwala, was shot dead by unknown assailants when he was asleep in his house.

An unidentified youth was shot dead in Nai Abadi, Mohallah Kamangran, whose body was found in a street on Sunday night.

KIDNAPPED: A girl was abducted by five unidentified armed men.

Bhowana police said Nazia Bibi, of Mouza Darutta Kharlan, was kidnapped by five armed men. A case has been registered.
