KARACHI, Feb 28: A suspected bandit was killed reportedly by the firing of his accomplice within the remit of the Shah Latif police station early Tuesday morning.

Police said around seven gunmen entered a private engineering company in Khoi Goth and started robbing workers of their valuables.

Security guard Maqbool Ahmad caught one of the bandits. His accomplice fired shots at the security guard, but missed the target and hit his own associate.

Police said the bandit suffered fatal wounds and died on the spot. Following the incident, the bandits fled leaving their dead accomplice behind.

Police reached the spot and seized some looted valuables and a pistol from the slain man, who was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination.

Police said the identity of the bandit was yet to be ascertained. Following medico-legal formalities, the body was shifted to the Edhi morgue.
