MIRPURKHAS, Dec 2: MPA-elect Dr Arbab Ghulam Raheem has said that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement is “our real and natural partner and we, along with the MQM and Pir Pagara” will form a government in Sindh province”.

While talking to newsmen on the telephone on Monday, he said that negotiations were going on with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, and added that he believed to get the support of the MQM and Pir Pagara to form a government of the Grand National Alliance (GNA) in Sindh province.

He said that the People’s Party Parliamentarians was not in a position to form government in Sindh.

Replying to a question, Dr Arbab Ghulam Raheem said that there was “no danger of imposing Governor Raj in Sindh”.

He said that no party in the Sindh Assembly had a clear majority and if a meeting of the Sindh Assembly was held, the members would not be able to elect any person as the chief minister.

He said that the GNA had nominated him for chief minister after holding discussions with the coalition partners.

He claimed that he and his party leader were continuing negotiations with various parliamentary groups and he would soon prove a majority for the chief minister’s slot.

He said that he would make efforts to run his government in consultation with all partners in the interest of democracy.

PMA: The Pakistan Medical Association and the Paramedical Staff Association, Mirpurkhas district, held a protest demonstration against the police for failing to recover the medical superintendent of the Government Hospital Jhuddo, Dr Haji Mohammad Memon, and another employee, Mohammad Kamil, both of whom had been kidnapped about a week back.
