KARACHI: Teachers observe protest day

KARACHI, Dec 2: College teachers in the province observed a protest day on Monday against the Punjab government’s decision to terminate the services of seven teachers.

The teachers held meetings in colleges and resolved to continue expressing their resentment against Punjab government’s action. The president of All-Pakistan Professors and Lecturers’ Association, Prof Nazim Hussain, is among those affected.

Meanwhile, SPLA, Sindh, in a press release claimed that a complete strike was observed in 210 government colleges, while teachers vowed to resist the government’s action against teachers and continue struggle for restoration of the University Act 1974.
