LAHORE, Feb 24: The Kinnaird College organised its annual sports day on Friday.

Senior adviser to the chief minister Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa inaugurated the annual sports along with college principal Dr Rukhsana David.

Almost 1,100 students participated in the sports -- 700 in aerobics and 400 in march past and other games.

The sports included various competitions such as badminton, table tennis, long jump and high jump. Races of 200 metres, 400 metres, 100 metres, sack race, obstacle race and three-legged race were also part of the day.

A large number of faculty also participated in the musical chair competition, which was won by Dr Saleha Naghmi.

Winner's Trophy and gold medal in hockey were awarded to Captain Sehrish Arshad Ghumman of the media studies department. Maryam Noor was given the Winner's Trophy for basket ball, Faryal Awan for cricket, Fariha Imtiyaz for badminton and Zara Nur for discus throw.

Syeda Khadija Mukhtar from the media studies department bagged three gold medals in long jump, high jump and 200-metre race.

Sack race was won by Maryam Chauhan and obstacle race by Fareeha Imtiaz. Syeda Amna Mukhtar won the best athlete for 2012 prize.

Zulfiqar Khosa distributed trophies and prizes to all winners and appreciated the college administration and the sports department for organising such healthy activities.
