Cane crushing

KARACHI, Dec 2: Sugar mills in Sindh will start cane crushing from Dec 10, a senior official of Sindh government said here on Monday.

He said that sugar mills have assured Federal Industries Minister Liaquat Ali Jatoi and Sindh government’s representatives last week that they will begin crushing soon after the labour return to their factories after Eid holidays.

He pointed out that factory workers had already proceeded on Eid vacations and they will return after a week. As soon as they will return sugar mills will begin crushing”, he observed. He said that Mr. Jatoi and Sindh government representatives had held meeting with sugar mills association on Saturday in which they tried to convince the mills to start crushing as soon as possible.—APP
