LAHORE: A two-seater plane on a training flight crashed into a house in Lahore on Thursday, killing a female pilot along with a trainee, officials said.
Police said the aircraft came down in Lahore’s wealthy Model Town neighbourhood but that no one on the ground was hurt. Television footage showed the mangled wreck of a small white plane marked Hybrid Aviation.
“A two-seater trainee plane of Hybrid Aviation crashed. Captain Anita Qureshi along with the trainee pilot have been killed,” Farooq Ahmad, a spokesman for the rescue service 1122, told AFP.
Police official Maroof Safdar Wala said the plane crashed into a house, but that the residents were safe.
“Rescue people are here and they are trying to cut the bodies out of the plane,” local resident Tahir Kardar, a retired colonel, told a local television channel.
