ISLAMABAD: Preparations for recording Mansoor Ijaz's testimony before the memo commission via video conference have been finalized on Tuesday.

The Pakistani-American business is set to record his statement on Wednesday (tomorrow) at around 2:00 pm PST at the London High Commission.

The judicial commission investigating the memo scandal had decided to record his statement through a video conference after Ijaz refused to come to Pakistan citing security reasons.

Equipment for the video conference has been setup at the London High Commission and Islamabad High Court building (IHC) and the attorney general had been informed about the preparations.

In another related development, the counsel for Husain Haqqani, the former ambassador to the United States, Zahid Bukhari had been issued a visa to England.

Bukhari requested for the visa in order to question Ijaz on the issue of the memogate. The request was accepted after a long gap.

His assistant will collect the document from the British High Commission today.

Akram Shaikh, Ijaz's counsel, had decided not to go to London.

Meanwhile, BlackBerry makers Research In Motion (RIM) have once again refused to release the telephonic record of Haqqani and Ijaz.

A written reply had been received by the government of Pakistan in this regard.

The company even refused to issue the record of Ijaz's correspondence with the company.—DawnNews
