DADU, Feb 20: Two surgical units, other costly equipments and furniture were reduced to ashes when a heavy fire broke out in the dental ward of the Civil Hospital here on Monday.

Panic gripped the hospital when patients and employees ran out of the ward.

In-charge of dental ward, Dr Manzoor Ahmed Hingoro, told journalists that after lunch time, he was at home and was informed that a fire had broken out in the hospital. He said that two surgical units and other equipments, besides furniture had reduced to ashes.

Civil Surgeon, Dr Javed Ahmed Dawachh, said that the fire erupted due to short circuit.

District Health Officer Dr Maula Bux Jamali visited the ward and directed the hospital administration to conduct an inquiry into the incident.
