Reckless driving claims boy’s life

HAFIZABAD, Dec 1: Reckless driving claimed the life of a boy and left the other seriously injured on Pindi Bhatian Road.

Reportedly, a speedy truck hit two brothers, M. Afzal and M. Amjad, who were going on a bicycle to their home.

Afzal, 11, died on the spot while Amjad was rushed to the rural health centre, Jalalpur, in critical condition. The truck driver managed to escape.

MEETING: The inaugural meeting of the District Public Safety Commission (DPSC) was held under the chairmanship of district and sessions judge, Malik Ghulam Hussain Awan.

Among eight member of DPSC, four were selected through interview by the judge while the other four members were elected by the district assembly.

They are: Muzaffar Bajwa, Riaz Tarar, Maj Waqas Bashir Tarar, Manzooral Hasan Chattha, Rana Asrarul Haq, Khawar Aziz, Touqeer Fatima and Zubaida Zulifqar Tarar.
