PESHAWAR, Dec 1: NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has assured that the new government would make consultation and mutual understanding the basis for the resolution of basic problems of the people.

“However, national and people’s interest would be kept supreme while seeking the resolution of people’s problems,” the chief minister said, while talking to a representative delegation from Swabi district at the Frontier House, said a statement issued here on Sunday.

The delegation, led by MNA Abdul Baes, also included MNA Maulana Fazle Subhan.

The delegation informed the chief minister about the concern of the people and the students of their area regarding the shifting of the offices of the Board of Intermediate and Secretary Education from Swat to Chakdara.

Mr Durrani asked them to exercise restraint as the vested interest could take undue advantage of the issue. “We could not be oblivious to this. We have to evolve an approach of mutual understanding, of hearing and being heard and bowing out to the supreme national and people’s interests that would guarantee a way out for resolving all long-standing problems,” he maintained.

He said that the new government had the people’s mandate to resolve their problems, adding, we could not even imagine to harm the confidence of the people.
