KARACHI, Feb 15: The round two of Rashid D. Habib Golf Tournament witnessed an exciting contest between the country’s top golfers as they strived to attain top position in the high-profile tournament.

Mohammad Munir of Islamabad and Afsar Ali of Karachi Port Trust excelled on the day with identical scores of 66 each. However, Shabbir Iqbal of Pakistan Navy continued to stay at the top with gross 137.

In the seniors event, Pakistan’s former national champion Ghulam Nabi continued to lead the pack with gross score of 147. The third and final round will be held on Thursday with top 40 golfers vying for honours.

Vice Admiral Abbas Raza HI(M), President KGC and ComKar, Pakistan Navy will witness the final moments and will distribute the prizes amongst the lucky winners. Sponsors of the event, Bank Al Habib have offered attractive prize money of rupees one million while the bank will also be paying Rs50,000 each to top 5 rated professionals in the country to encourage their participation.—Agencies
