In a statement, he said that last night thieves broke four locks of his two gowdowns near Piran Dag, and took away some eight cartons of medicines worth Rs55,000.

He said it may be mentioned that the ASI, Syedul Abrar, of B division PS, was patrolling the area when he saw the locks broken.

Azam said that the ASI informed him about the incident in the middle of the night and when he came to the scene medicines worth Rs55,000 had been taken away by the thieves from the gowdowns.
