KARACHI, Feb 9: Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Hussain Wassan said on Thursday that the general election would be held on Oct 18.

In reply to a question at a press conference, where former general secretary of the PPP’s Sindh chapter, Nafees Siddiqui, announced his return to the party, Mr Wassan said the election for national and provincial assemblies would be held on the same day.

He said that election for local bodies in Sindh would be held before the general election.

Asked whether he would also welcome former home minister Dr Zulfikar Mirza back to the party fold, Mr Wassan said that Dr Mirza had already declared that he had not left the party.
