LAHORE, Feb 9: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the Arfa Software Technology Park reflects Pakistan-China friendship and it will prove to be the hub of information technology activities. He said that the highest building of Punjab has been named after the world youngest IT expert Arfa Karim and no other name can be better for this building, says a handout.
Mr Sharif said this at the inaugural ceremony of Arfa Software Technology Park on Thursday.
The parents of Arfa Karim were also present.
He said that Arfa Karim won laurels for the country and made the nation proud.
Mr Sharif said that the dream of development could not be realized without equipping the youth with modern knowledge. He said that Punjab government had taken revolutionary measures for the promotion of information technology. He said that Arfa Software Technology Park would prove to be a milestone in the promotion of information technology and a campus of information technology university would be set up in the next few months.
He said that thousands of students from Attock to Rahim Yar Khan were benefiting from IT labs set up in more than 4,000 schools of the province at a cost of Rs5 billion.
He said that the distribution of 125,000 laptops was such a revolutionary step through which such IT scholars would be produced who would carve out a prosperous future for the country.
