LAHORE, Feb 3: Jamaat-i-Islami Chief Syed Munawwar Hasan has reiterated that JI workers have been asked to foil any bid to restore Nato supplies.

He said since there was a wind of change all over the world, including Pakistan, the nation should stand united in retaining this country on its ideology.

The JI chief said the entire West had risen against the capitalism and thousands of people were demonstrating in streets of cities and towns.

He said the dictators who were ruling Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco and Libya had been toppled by the public and the condition in Pakistan was no different.

He said the change of faces in Pakistan had done no good to the masses, rather it had burdened them under the price spiral, unemployment and loadshedding of gas and electricity.

"If the people once again give vote to the corrupt people, dacoits, plunderers and exploiters, the future rulers will snatch even the last morsel of food from them," he added.

The JI chief said the masses should vote for the JI for establishing the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of the law and justice.

Referring to the advent of the month of Rabiul Awal, he said the Seerat of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) and his companions served as a beacon for the Muslims and the nation could improve their lot by adhering to the Islamic teachings in letter and spirit.

TI:The Tehrik-i-Istiqlal has opposed likely restoration of Nato supplies.

In a statement on Friday, party president Rehmat Khan Wardag said if the parliament voted for opening supply route to Nato forces in Afghanistan, it would be called 'American legislature' facing hatred of the whole nation.
