LAHORE, Feb 2: The FAST National University is opening its fifth campus on Faisalabad-Chiniot Road. University's President Senator Wasim Sajjad will perform the groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday (tomorrow).
The Rs750 million project will complete in six months time and will cater to the educational needs of students in Faisalabad, Chiniot, Bhakkar, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Multan, Khanewal, Mianwali and Khushab.The varsity's campuses in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar are already imparting higher education to around 7,000 students.
According to a news release issued here on Thursday, the FAST NU new campus had been approved on the recommendation of former MNA Qaiser Ahmad Sheikh, who is also on the Board of Governors of the university.
The new campus will have more than seven faculties including, computer sciences, business administration, computer engineering, mathematics, telecommunication engineering and software project management. The university will offer bachelors, masters and PhD degree programmes.
The university is offering Rs60 million merit-based scholarships to the deserving students.
