KARACHI, Nov 30: The pilgrims who intend to perform umrah/haj have been advised to get themselves vaccinated against meningitis in the designated centres.

A press release issued by the airport health department issued on Saturday said that the decision had been taken by the federal health ministry in consultation with the Saudi Arabian ministry of health. It said that the intending pilgrims would have to vaccinate themselves only at the prescribed vaccination centres.

In Karachi, these centres have been designated at the directorate of central health establishments, Block No 47, Pak secretariat, Saddar, Ph: 9201251; airport health department, terminal-I, Ph: 9248488; central government servant colonies, Block No 48-B, Pak secretariat, Ph: 9201267; civil surgeon, federal government employees’ centre, Block No 4, Ph: 9201252; and port health department, Ph: 2852354. The centres will remain open from 8am to 2pm.
