PESHAWAR, Nov 30: Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has said the Hattar Industrial Estate (HIE) will have its own fire brigade for which Rs40 million has already been released.

He was speaking to a seven-member team of the Haripur Chamber of Commerce & Industry, which met him led by Malik Farid Khan at the Governor’s House on Saturday.

He said the availability of a new fire brigade, besides the existing one with the district government, would definitely resolve the longstanding problem faced by the industrialists and also made it clear that the responsibility of the new fire brigade would rest with the industrialists.

In reply to a question, the governor said that the authorities had already been directed to make double carpeting of the Hattar-Taxila Road.

Referring to other issues on the future development of the industrial estate, he said the government had already created a new organization in the name of Industrial Facilitation Agency which, he said, would prove quite helpful in resolving the uplift problems of the estate.
