ISLAMABAD Nov 29: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has reiterated his government’s resolve to continue the political, diplomatic and moral support to the people of Kashmir in their just struggle for the right to self determination.

The premier said this while talking to the prime minister of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan, who called on him on Thursday evening, official sources said.

Jamali said that the people of Pakistan fully supported the Kashmiris in their heroic struggle.

He said that Pakistanis could not even think of compromising on the Kashmiris’ fundamental right to self determination, adding that it was also recognised by the UN resolutions.

Being a Muslim Leaguer and a primary worker of the party of the founder of the nation, Quaid-i-Azam, Jamali said he firmly believed Kashmir to be the jugular vein of Pakistan.

The prime minister said that he had realised the extent of the plight of the Kashmiris in 1980 when a fire had erupted in Mina during the Haj that year.

Jamali saluted the Kashmiris for offering supreme sacrifices during their struggle.

The prime minister appreciated the services rendered by the Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan’s government regarding the rescue and rehabilitation of the victims of the unprovoked Indian firing across the Line of Control (LoC).

He assured Sardar Sikandar of his government’s support in this regard.

The prime minister accepted an invitation to visit the AJK. The invitation was extended by Sardar Sikandar Hayat.

He said that he would arrive there on a state visit in the third week of December.

The prime minister is expected to address the AJK legislative assembly and the joint sitting of the AJK council during his visit.
