MARDAN, Jan 28: Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said on Saturday that the Awami National Party had completed record development projects in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and based on its performance it would win the next general election.

Speaking at a public meeting here in Katlang tehsil, the chief minister said that the provincial government was committed to providing basic facilities to the people. He predicted that the ANP would again come into power by winning the upcoming general election.

Mr Hoti laid the foundation of Gulab Baba Women Degree College in Katlang tehsil and said that the project costing Rs20 million would be completed in two years. He said that the government had decided to start classes of the college at the Irrigation Bungalow from September next to save precious time of the students.

He said that the college had been named after 'Khudai Khidmatgar' Gulab Baba, who was an active member of Bacha Khan Movement.

Besides, he also announced Rs10 million for the provision of new feeder in Katlang grid station. He said that Shankar Flyover on third section of Mardan Bypass would be named after 'Khudai Khidmatgar' Mohammad Bacha to acknowledge his services for the cause of motherland.

The chief minister said that work on Katlang road was underway with a cost of Rs400. He said that roads from Landi Shah to Ghundo Chowk and Pipal Ghazi were under construction and would be completed on priority. He also announced Rs140 million for road construction from Jamal Garhi Farsh to Landay Shah Pul, Rs10 million for Mian Khan Sangao road and Rs4.1 million for Pipal-Khui Barmol road.

He said that the dual Shamozai road and Lund Khwar to Cheel road would be inaugurated next month and approved Rs80 million for the projects. The chief minister said that many young people were benefiting from Bacha Khan Khapal Rozgar Scheme and Hunarmand Rozgar Scheme. He pointed out that it was a sign of success of these schemes that people had started returning their loans to the government.

On this occasion, a local PML-N leader, Adrees Bacha, joined the ANP and expressed his confidence in the party leadership. The chief minister presented a red cap to Mr Bacha and said that entry of such people was a source of pride for the ANP.— Correspondent
