PESHAWAR, Jan 27: Government on Friday renamed the Peshawar International Airport as Bacha Khan International Airport.

ANP president Asfandyar Wali Khan cut a cake at a ceremony held at the executive lounge of the airport in this connection. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti was also present.

The ANP leader said Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani had already approved renaming of the airport after the name of the founder of the Khudai Khidmatgar Tehrik Bacha Khan.

ANP provincial president Senator Afrasiab Khattak, Minister for Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain, ANP central secretary information Zahid Khan, Senior Minister Bashir Ahmed Bilour and former federal minister Azam Hoti were also present. —Bureau Report
