KARACHI, Nov 29: Residents of North Nazimabad have been getting contaminated water for the last one week and despite several complaints lodged with the officials of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, the problem has not been resolved yet.

One of the residents, Rais Zaidi, who lives in Block C, said that he along with residents of over a couple of hundred houses near the Technical Training Centre had been getting contaminated water for the last one week.

He said though he had approached the KWSB offices many times, he could not meet the executive engineer as he was rarely available in the office.

The residents said that in absence of fresh water supply during Ramazan, they were forced to purchase tanker water at exorbitant rates.

They urged the KWSB to ensure that fresh water was supplied to the people so that they did not fall prey to diseases.

The residents urged the authorities to conduct an inquiry into the matter to ascertain how contaminated water was being supplied to them and also take the officials to task for playing with the health of the citizens.
