KARACHI, Jan 24: A property dealer was shot dead in Landhi’s Mansehra Colony on Tuesday, police said.

They said that 52-year-old Zale Khan, a resident of Agra Taj Colony in Lyari, had gone to Mansehra Colony within the remit of the Sharafi Goth police station along with his son, Azam, to sell a piece of land.

However, he had an altercation with some men who apparently had shown an interest in the land, the police said, adding that during the altercation they opened fire on Mr Khan, who suffered a fatal bullet wound in the head and died on the spot.

The suspects managed to escape.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

A duty officer at the Sharafi Goth police station said that the victim dealt in plots and vehicles and the killers apparently wanted to purchase the plot but there was some argument over its price which led to firing.

The victim was father of six and originally hailed from Waziristan.

Till late in the night, no case was registered at the Sharafi Goth police station.
