LAHORE, Jan 22: Robbers looted cash and valuables worth Rs4 million in three major bids in the city on Sunday.

In the first incident, four robbers entered Mr Lawrence’s house in South Cantonment police limits, took the family at gunpoint and collected gold ornaments, cell phones, prize bonds and home appliances worth Rs2.5 million and fled.

In another incident, robbers entered Saeed’s house in North Cantonment police precincts and looted cash and valuables worth Rs600,000.

In yet another incident, three robbers stormed Hakeem Salimullah’s residence in Defence-A police limits and took away cash, jewellery and valuables worth Rs900,000.

Also, two robbers entered Khalid’s house in Shadbagh police limits and looted cash and valuables worth Rs300,000 while as many robbers stopped Fateh Muhammad in the same area and deprived him of cash, cell phone and a motorcycle.

Two robbers stopped Afzaal in Misri Shah police limits and snatched cash, cell phone and motorcycle while as many robbers robbed Miraaj of cash, cell phone and laptop in Liaqatabad police limits.

BURNT: A 20-year-old girl died of burns shortly after she caught fire while lighting a gas heater at her Baghbanpura residence on Sunday.

The police said Sadia Illyas, of Dhobi Ghat, suffered burns after her shawl caught fire. The girl was rushed to a nearby hospital by her family members where she succumbed to the burns.
