KARACHI, Jan 22: Punjab had to settle for mere three first-innings’ points after the final day of their Faysal Bank Pentangular Cup fixture against Federal Areas was marred by bad weather at the Diamond Club Ground in Islamabad on Sunday.

Just 26 overs were possible on the fourth day after light drizzle and poor light badly curtailed play which began at 1:45pm.

Umpires Saleem Badar and Shakeel Khan were forced to signal an early closure when it was inevitable that an outright result was not forthcoming.

After Federal Areas declared their second innings at the overnight score of 259-8 to leave the visitors an impossible chase for 257, Punjab lost four wickets in reaching 77-4.

Opener Nasir Jamshed made 41 off 62 balls with the aid of six boundaries before providing left-arm seamer Saad Altaf one of his three wickets.
