Two students killed

OKARA, Nov 27: Two nursery students were crushed to death while another sustained serious injuries on Wednesday when the school gate along with its pillars fell on them near Basirpur.

Students of the Government Primary Girls School, Rakh Abdal, were playing on the school lawn. Suddenly its gate along with the pillars fell on them, killing Shan and Misbah instantly and injuring Uzma. She was shifted to hospital.

ELECTROCUTED: A man was electrocuted and another received burn wounds when their heads touched the overhead electric wires while passing through the level crossing on a tractor-trolley on the Renala Khurd Road.

Allah Ditta and Javaid sitting on the tractor-trolley loaded with paddy incidentally touched the overhead wires. The former died on the spot and the latter sustained burn wounds.

RECOVERED: Saddar police on Wednesday claimed to have recovered 70kg of contraband from a wagon parked on its premises.

Police said some unidentified persons had parked the wagon in the courtyard of Saddar police station. During a search, police recovered 60 kgs charas and 10 kgs opium from the wagon.— Correspondent
