LAHORE, Nov 17: Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Haq entered quarter-finals of the ITF International Futures Tennis Championship, defeating Luke Bourgeois of Australia in straight sets at 6-4, 6-4 at the Muang Thong Thani Complex in Thailand.

Aisam will play against Dong Hum Kim of South Korea in the quarter-final.

The pre-quarter-final was played in hot and humid conditions in which Aisam overpowered his opponent in an hour and twenty minutes.  Aisam  excelled in his booming service for which Luke Bourgeois had no answer. Aisam hit ten aces.

Earlier,  Aisam had beaten Yen Hsun Lu of Taiwan in the  first round after a gruelling three-set encounter at 5-7, 6-3 and  6-3. The match lasted two hours. First time, Aisam had beaten Yen Hsun Lu in the Davis Cup tie held between Pakistan and Taiwan earlier this year.
