I WOULD like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned towards the Rangers Public School and College in Block A, North Nazimabad, Karachi, which are managed by the Pakistan Rangers. In the last two years they have increased their fee from Rs900 to Rs2,000 per child, and are now asking for an increase of Rs1000 per child, making it Rs3,000 with effect from Jan 1 next.
As most of the students of the said school and college belong to middle and low-income groups, it is not justifiable to compare with other private schools. People enrolled their children at this school as being part of the army-oriented institution with reasonable fee structure. It is understandable that the school administration needs to increase the fee but it should be reasonable keeping in view the inflation or parents would not be able to afford their children’s education. Is there any law to check this unreasonable increase? Can any Rangers official look into this matter?
