KARACHI, Nov 25: A young man died of food poisoning in Clifton early Monday morning.

Police said that three men, Aurangzeb, aged 35, Amir Zeb, aged 20, and Bakht Mehar, aged 24, fell ill after they had Iftar at Galaxy Apartments in Clifton’s block-8.

They were rushed to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre, where Aurangzeb died. The two others were admitted to the hospital in serious condition.

Police said that the three men were chowkidars at Galaxy Apartments.

Sources at the hospital said that the three men suffered food poisoning after they ate pakoras. They bought fried foodstuffs from a roadside shop.

CARJACKING: Twenty-eight vehicles — 10 cars and 18 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Monday, police said.

Four cars were hijacked. Six others were stolen.

Seven motorcycles were hijacked. Eleven others were stolen.

FOUND MURDERED: An unidentified boy was found murdered in Kharadar early Monday morning.

Police said that the boy, aged 12, was found murdered in a narrow street behind Madina Masjid near Punjab Club in Kharadar. Injuries were inflicted, by a blunt weapon, on the boy’s head.

“He was one of the street children who sniffed a popular brand of glue,” a duty officer at Kharadar police station said.

The body was sent to Civil Hospital, where post-mortem was performed. The body has been kept in the Edhi’s morgue for identification.
