LAHORE, Dec 30: Police in a house-to-house search operation in Chung village in Defence took into custody 18 people and seized 23 motorcycles from them on Friday.

A police source said 50 police officials of Defence A, Defence B and Factory Area police stations took part in the search operation after learning about the presence of suspects and vehicles without documents in the village.

According to the source, the village was being used by criminals as hideout after committing crime in the posh localities of Cantonment and Defence. Headed by Defence Circle ASP Fida Hussain, the police continued the operation for two hours.

Mr Hussain said that after investigation police detained 12 suspects who could not show the documents of motorcycles and released others.
