Girls college needs staff

CHITRAL, Nov 24: The only government college for girls here is short of teaching staff which has retarded academic progress of the institution.

The strength of the college staff is said to be only five out of the 35 sanctioned.

No science classes are being offered in this degree college. Hence, girls have to go to Peshawar, which is an added burden on their families’ economy.

Due to the shortage of staff at the intermediate level, the last result was not satisfactory, most student’s told Dawn.

The college has engaged some male teachers. The government has also failed to provide hostel facilities to girls who come from remote areas. A number of students have had to discontinue their studies after metric, as they had no place to stay.
