KARACHI, Dec 28: A cashier of a petrol station was killed by suspected robbers on resistance in Liaquatabad on Wednesday.

Police said the incident took place in Sarafa Bazaar, Liaquatabad No 2, where two suspects riding a motorcycle arrived at the petrol station.

As they tried to snatch cash at gunpoint from cashier Saeedullah Khan, 30, he resisted, prompting the suspects to shoot him and take away Rs4,000.

The wounded cashier was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The murdered cashier was a resident of Hijrat Colony. The incident took place close to the Liaqatabad police station, which also houses the SP office.

No FIR of the incident was registered till late in the evening.
