Smeda accord with IPO

ISLAMABAD: The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Smeda) and Intellectual Property Organisation (IPO), Pakistan, have entered into an agreement to facilitate SMEs in respective ambit of their service.

Yousaf Naseem Khokhar, CEO Smeda and Sajjad Bhutta, DG, IPO-Pakistan signed the agreement on behalf of their organisations.

Under the agreement, Smeda has provided space, along with complete infrastructure and human resources, for a facilitation desk while IPO would arrange training to Smeda designated staff.

The help desk would receive IP-related applications and extend legal advice to SMEs.

IPO Pakistan chairman Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi said areas of further collaboration would be established after mutual consultations of the experts from both the organisations.

He said IPO is looking forward to develop relations with different organisations for creating awareness about IP rights.
