NAROWAL, Nov 23: A police constable died while two other persons were seriously injured when they fell off the roof of a Shakargarh-bound bus after hitting the branch of a tree near Kakeke Mor on Narowal-Shakargarh Road on Saturday.

The deceased constable was identified as Parvaiz Akhtar and the injured as Imran and Saleem. The injured were shifted to the DHQ Hospital here.

THIEF RELEASED: The city police released an alleged thief caught by Rescue-15 without registering a case.

Mohammad Yasir of Mohallah Islampura told the police that an unidentified thief had entered his house around 12 noon. However, he noticed the thief’s presence, caught him with the help of his friends and called Rescue-15, who arrived after 20 minutes. The thief was handed over to city police who, however, released him without registering a case.

The complainant and citizens condemned the attitude of the city police and demanded stern action against those responsible for the incident.
