MANSEHRA, Dec 18: A couple was killed in an honor-related incident in Kohistan on Saturday.

The incident happened in Shararkot area of Pales tehsil when one Mohammad Habib with the help of his accomplices first shot dead Kamalud-den at his shop and later on killed his daughter at home.

The local people told reporters that the FIR of the incident was yet to be lodged.

In a similar incident earlier this month Fazalur Rehman, who had recently returned from Saudi Arabia, first shot dead his neighbour, Noorul Haq, in the nearby fields and later killed his wife at home in Dobair area.

The Kohistan is highly backward and conservative district where women are deprived of even basic human rights.

HAZARA TEHRIK: A delegation of Subah Hazara Tehrik would meet Prime Minster Yousuf Raza Gilani in Islamabad today (Monday), according to Syed Qasim Shah, special advisor to PM in Balakot on Sunday.

He said the delegation would be led by the chairman of the Tehrik Sardar Mohammad Yousaf and would comprise former provincial minister Shahzada Gustasip Khan, former MPA Syed Mazhar Qasim and Tariq Khan Swati.

He said that the sacrifices rendered by the people of Hazara for the creation of a separate province would bear fruit. He said it was high time that more provinces should be constituted for better administration.

STATEMENTS RECORDED: The inquiry commission constituted by the Peshawar High Court to probe the killing of four alleged timber smugglers has recorded the statements of victims’ families, the injured and local lawmakers.
