ISLAMABAD, Dec 18: National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) seized around 20kg of hashish hidden in secret cavities of a wagon on Sunday.

Public Relations Officer Jamal Zaib said on Peshawar-Lahore motorway patch, the patrolling officers signaled a wagon (D-1489) to stop. The wagon driver did not pay any heed to the signal and sped away. The officers radioed details of the suspicious wagon to the command centre and the other patrolling groups ahead on the road. A patrolling team spotted the abandoned vehicle a few miles away from where it was first signaled to stop. The wagon driver managed to flee after ditching the vehicle in a grassy verge. On thoroughly searching the vehicle, hashish was found tucked into its secret cavities, which was immediately seized.
