Zhu greets new PM

BEIJING, Nov 22: Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji, on Friday sent a message of greetings to Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, on his election as the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Welcoming the election of Zafarullah Jamali, the foreign office spokesman, Kong Quan, expressed his hope that the new elected government will take Sino-Pakistan relations to new heights.

The spokesman said Premier Zhu in his congratulatory message to the newly-elected prime minister, expressed his confidence that Pakistan will further strengthen its social stability and economic progress.

The spokesman said Pakistan and China have always enjoyed close and cordial relations, which would further grow in future.—APP
