KARACHI: Veteran politician and one of the founder members of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Meraj Mohammad Khan has decided to file a suit against CEO Dunya TV Mian Amir Mehmood, Anchorperson Meher Bukhari and Senior Producer Dunya TV Imran Shafqat with reference to a Dunya TV program of November 15, 2011 in which provocative and defamatory allegations are alleged to have been made against him.

In this regard, Senator (R) Iqbal Haider, Senior Advocate Supreme Court, has already served a legal notice to the individuals involved with the program ‘‘Cross Fire’’.

The notice calls upon the addressees to withdraw defamatory remarks against Khan and offer an unqualified apology for the broadcast. It also called for the presentation of a program with the same prominence and duration on Khan’s struggle and/or pay damages within 10 days of the receipt of the notice.

Reportedly, neither the said individuals associated with the television channel have broadcast an apology nor have they acknowledged receiving the notice.
