JSQM activist killed

HYDERABAD, Dec 11: An activist of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, Ameer Bux Nohani, died in a clash over a piece of land in a village in the Jamshoro area on Sunday.

According to details, members of Waggan community had started construction on the disputed plot.

The clash took place when Nohanis objected to construction by the Waggan community over it. During the clash Ameer Bux Nohani was shot dead.

Later, members of the Nohani community and JSQM activists, carrying his body, staged a sit-in on the Indus Highway at Sindh University colony bus stop. Traffic remained suspended as protesters hurled stones on vehicles.

Mohammad Urs Nohani, father of deceased, claimed that the plot was their property where members of Waggan community had deployed armed men and began construction. He said Ameer Bux reached there and tried to talk with the Waggans who resorted to firing killing

him instantly. He demanded arrest of the killers.

SHO Nazar Mohammad Deshak of Jamshoro police station rushed to the spot and assured the protesters of arresting the accused immediately. After an assurance the protesters dispersed.Body of the deceased was removed to the Civil Hospital Hyderabad and handed over to relatives after port-mortem.

No FIR was registered till late Sunday but police had started raiding different places to arrest the accused.—Bureau
