KARACHI, Nov 21: The KESC’s army monitoring team raided a bachat bazaar in Sarafa Market, that was being fed through kundas.

According to a KESC statement on Thursday, 50 kundas were removed providing electricity to hanger lights, each consuming 500 watts of power equivalent to 25 KW.

A 275-meters-long wire was also confiscated; it was being used to provide kunda to each hanger. The AMT has also arrested two persons responsible for all that arrangement.

The KESC has requested the public to simply apply for temporary light connections for night cricket matches, bacaht bazaars and religious activities, as the KESC has made necessary arrangements to provide TL connections.

The army monitoring team has conducted raids in Korangi, Gulshan-i-Iqbal and Mauripur and arrested 12 persons during its campaign against illegal connections.

During night operation, 10 persons were arrested from Nazimabad and Saddar areas for using Kundas.

Only yesterday the army monitoring team raided and arrested 20 persons from different areas of the city.—APP
