Site for shopping plaza

MURREE, Dec 5: On the directive of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif, local authorities visited Jika Gali Bazaar to select a site for construction of a proposed shopping plaza for the traders whose shops were demolished to build a parking plaza.

It may be noted that due to negative reports by the soil testing agencies, the construction of the parking plaza was canceled but not before demolition of about 32 shops.

At that time, the shopkeepers were promised that they would be provided shops in the shopping plaza which was to be constructed at Lower Topa Road.

The affected shopkeepers approached the Murree Town Administration and their elected representatives but to no use.

Finally, their representatives met the PML-N chief during his recent visit to Murree and apprised him of their problems.

Mr Sharif asked the district administration and local party representatives to solve the issue of the shopkeepers in seven days.— Correspondent
