ISLAMABAD, Nov 20: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to seek government’s consent to give 50 per cent rebate to the pensioners in self-occupancy cases in the capital.

The decision to this effect was taken at a CDA board meeting held here on Wednesday.

The meeting was told that some pensioners had complained that the authority was not giving them 50 per cent rebate in self- occupancy cases. On the other hand, the authority claimed that it was giving 10 per cent rebate to the pensioners and said their demand of 50 per cent was unjustified.

On a proposal regarding amendment in the residential sectors zoning regulation 1993, the meeting decided to increase the scrutiny fee, which is collected from the applicants while submitting documents for construction of residential buildings.

The meeting expressed concern over building violation allegedly committed by the owner of a restaurant at F-9 Park and directed the directorate concerned to take action against the violator.

In connection with the repair and changing of 32 elevators installed at Pak Secretariat, the meeting decided to hire a consultant firm to assess the condition of the lifts and submit proposals in this regard.

The meeting also decided to shift Kutcha Abadi of F-9 Park to Ali Pur Farash under the terms and conditions offered to other Kutcha Abadis. The case would be sent to the government for approval.

On a proposal regarding increase in the professional charges for CDA counsel, the meeting decided to increase their charges from Rs15,000 per case to the rates fixed by the government.

It was decided in the meeting that a park for the disabled would be established at F-9 Park. It would be established jointly by the CDA and the ministry of women development.

The meeting approved extension in the contract period of laying a water conduction main from Shah Allah Ditta reservoir to respective sectors.

The meeting directed the directorate concerned to re-examine the case of installation of a petrol pump on military land in Barakahu.

The meeting deferred a proposal for reimbursement of water charges to the CDA employees living in Rawalpindi. The case has been approved twice by the CDA board in the past. The authority gives exemption of water charges to its employees in Islamabad but this facility is not being given to those living in Rawalpindi.
