Nish sings well

Published November 26, 2011

Check out this teenager, named Nish (not sure if that’s her real name). Her song is the latest offering by music channels. Not only does this very young girl have a mellifluous voice, she has also achieved a feat which many can only dream of. In case you’re wondering what that is, well, she’s sung a thumri, Yaad Piya Ki Aaey, made famous by none other than Barre Ghulam Ali Khan.

It takes some guts and courage to introduce yourself with such a difficult song and that too in style. The girl has sung it with balance and noteworthy command over the sur. If Nish’s maiden performance is anything to judge her by, she’s destined to go where not many have gone before. Fingers crossed!
