LONDON: London Police Commissioner Bernard Morgan has confirmed the arrest of two people in Pakistan in connection with the murder of MQM leader Imran Farooq.

He said London police were working in cooperation with Pakistani authorities in the matter. He expressed his resolve to stop murderers from roaming freely on London streets and roads.

MQM leader Dr Imran Farooq was murdered on Sept 16 last year outside his London home.

Two suspects allegedly involved in the murder were arrested at the Karachi airport on Aug 22 and three others were arrested in London in what was termed as a quantum leap in investigation.

Media reports had claimed that those arrested in Karachi had gone to London on student visas and after some time they had proceeded to Singapore from where they proceeded to Sri Lanka on April 27.

They arrived at the Karachi airport on Aug 22 where they were arrested by intelligence personnel and taken to Islamabad. —Online
