MULTAN, Nov 15: A local court on Friday sent a Nazim of union council No 48 to jail on judicial remand in a case pertaining to the killing of a man on the polling day on Oct 10.

Rana Shamshad was accused of plotting the killing of Ali Sher, his political rival, after he was injured by the men of Sher on the election day. Sher was killed by Ilyas and Shafi hours after Shamshad was hospitalized in an alleged firearm attack.

The bail of Shamshad was first rejected by the DSJ and he was arrested on Thursday after his appeal was turned down by the LHC, Multan bench.—APP
