LUMHS: The academic activities at the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) were disrupted at the Jamshoro campus as the students held a protest demonstration and sit-in after boycotting their classes on Friday.

The protest was held on the call of the Sindh National Students Front (SNSF) against the alleged increase in students problems at the campus.

The police had to resort to Lathi charge to disperse the angry students as a result of which at least 10 students had been injured.

A student reportedly slapped a police officer but this was denied by the SP, Kotri, Manzoor Khatian. However, police have arrested a student leader.

VC: The vice chancellor of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Prof Jan Mohammad Memon, in a press release said that a small group of students attempted to create disturbances by interfering in the academic atmosphere. The law enforcing agencies intervened and tried to control the situation.
