KARACHI: Mutahida Qaumi Movement has consulted legal and constitutional experts to ascertain if the derogatory remarks used by PML-N leaders on Friday were not in violation of the Constitution, said Raza Haroon, Member of MQM Rabita Committee.

Talking to journalists, in the company of Nasreen Jalil and Wasay Jalil, on Saturday he said MQM would resist all attempts against the constitution of the country.

“We will not allow anyone to derail democracy,” he said.

Raza Haroon who is also    provincial minister told journalists, during his visit to the designated route for Sunday's “Pro President Rally” said the event organised by MQM would be participated by all pro-democratic elements.

“MQM's Democracy and Stability of Pakistan Rally would be a befitting reply to the proponents of PML-N's Friday Rally,” he said.

He said people claiming themselves to be leaders of the people must learn to respect other leaders too.

“Karachiites would participate in large numbers as they had always led pro-democratic campaigns,” he said in reply to a question.

Raza Haroon said the rally would begin from Numaish and culminate at Tibet Centre where the participants would be addressed by the senior and pro-democracy politicians of the country.

The three members of the MQM Rabita Committee on the occasion reviewed arrangements being made for the rally, particularly the huge stage erected at Tibet Centre for speakers of the programme.
